ZEEGRIJS — SHIPPING AND REFUND POLICY
Website: www.zeegrijs.com
Effective Date: 25th August 2025
1. Introduction
This Shipping & Refund Policy (the “Policy”) explains how ZEEGRIJS (“we,” “us,” “our”) handles production, dispatch, delivery, and post-sale remedies for our jewelry. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms & Conditions, which govern all purchases.
ZEEGRIJS’ creations are sculptural, bespoke, and made-to-order. Each piece is handcrafted in small batches in New York using Recycled Sterling Silver and Argentium Silver, with packaging sourced sustainably and customized by hand. Because of this, all purchases are final sale, subject only to the limited exceptions in this Policy.
2. Production and Processing
2.1 Made-to-Order Craftsmanship. Production begins only once full payment has cleared. Lead times vary depending on design complexity, material availability, and our artisan schedule. We provide indicative production windows at checkout or in your order confirmation. These are estimates only and not guarantees.
2.2 Variations in Craft. Natural variations in texture, patina, finish, and form are integral to handmade jewelry. They confirm authenticity and individuality, and are not defects. Customers expressly accept such variations as part of the purchase.
2.3 Amendments Post-Order. Once an order is placed, changes are generally not possible. If you contact us within 12 hours of order placement, we may, at our discretion, accept limited modifications, subject to possible cost adjustments.
3. Shipping Arrangements
3.1 Carriers. Orders are shipped via trusted third-party carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, USPS). Customers authorize ZEEGRIJS to contract carriers on their behalf.
3.2 Tracking. Once dispatched, tracking details will be shared with you by email. It is your responsibility to monitor delivery progress.
3.3 Insurance. Shipments are insured up to their sales value. Our liability for transit loss or damage is limited to the proceeds recoverable from the carrier or insurer. If an insurer denies coverage for circumstances outside our control (e.g., “safe drop” left at customer’s request), ZEEGRIJS bears no further liability.
3.4 Delivery Location. Customers must provide accurate shipping information. Deliveries to PO Boxes or restricted locations may not be possible. ZEEGRIJS is not responsible for packages delayed, misdelivered, or returned due to inaccurate information provided at checkout.
4. Risk of Loss and Delivery
4.1 United States Orders. Title and risk of loss transfer to the customer once goods are handed to the carrier.
4.2 EU/UK Orders. To comply with EU/UK consumer law, risk transfers upon delivery to you (or your designated recipient), unless you independently arrange for your own carrier.
4.3 Post-Delivery Responsibility. Once a shipment is recorded as delivered, ZEEGRIJS is not liable for theft, tampering, or exposure to elements at the destination. Customers are advised to select signature-required delivery where security is a concern.
5. Customs, Duties, and Import Restrictions
5.1 Customer Responsibility. All international duties, VAT, tariffs, brokerage charges, and import restrictions are the customer’s responsibility.
5.2 Refused Shipments. If a customer refuses to pay import duties or taxes, the shipment may be abandoned or returned at additional cost. In such cases, ZEEGRIJS bears no obligation to refund or replace the order.
5.3 Legal Compliance. Customers must ensure compliance with local import laws before placing an order. ZEEGRIJS disclaims liability for packages seized, delayed, or destroyed by customs.
6. Refunds & Returns — Final Sale Policy
6.1 General Rule. All ZEEGRIJS sales are final. We do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds except as explicitly provided below.
6.2 EU/UK Consumer Rights. You acknowledge that, by commissioning a bespoke, made-to-order Product, you forfeit the statutory right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
6.3 Non-Refundable Charges. Shipping costs, customs duties, and taxes are always non-refundable.
7. Limited Exceptions — Defects or Errors
7.1 Definition of Defect. A “defect” means a material fault in our manufacturing that renders the piece substantially different from the agreed description. Minor differences in finish, patina, or weight are not defects.
7.2 Incorrect Items. If we ship the wrong item (e.g., incorrect design, size, or finish), we will rectify the error at our expense.
7.3 Remedies. For validated claims, ZEEGRIJS may, at its sole discretion:
Repair the item,
Replace it with a substantially similar item, or
Refund the purchase price.
This remedy is exclusive and limited to the value of the purchased Product.
8. Claim Procedure
8.1 Notification Window. Customers must notify ZEEGRIJS of defects or errors within 7 calendar days of delivery.
8.2 Evidence Required. Claims must include: (a) order number, (b) written description of the issue, and (c) clear photographs of the item.
8.3 Return for Inspection. If required, the item must be returned using ZEEGRIJS’ specified shipping method. Unauthorized returns will be rejected.
8.4 Final Determination. ZEEGRIJS’ assessment of whether an item qualifies as defective or incorrect shall be final, subject to non-waivable consumer rights.
9. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or delivery failures caused by events outside our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, customs restrictions, pandemics, labor disputes, or carrier disruptions.
10. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of New York State, USA, with mandatory consumer protections preserved where applicable for EU/UK residents.
