ZEEGRIJS — COPYRIGHTS POLICY

1. Introduction and Purpose

ZEEGRIJS is an independent jewelry brand producing sculptural, handmade, and made-to-order works in Recycled Sterling Silver and Argentium Silver. In addition to our physical pieces, our website, photography, branding, and written materials form part of our creative identity.

This Copyrights Policy (the “Policy”) sets out how ZEEGRIJS protects its original works under U.S. copyright law, international treaties, and other applicable intellectual property frameworks. It also explains how third parties may lawfully use ZEEGRIJS content and how alleged infringements may be reported.

By accessing our Site or purchasing our Products, you acknowledge that all intellectual property rights in our works remain the exclusive property of ZEEGRIJS or its licensors.

2. Scope of Copyright Protection

The following categories of material are protected by copyright and related rights:

Designs and Jewelry Models: The sculptural and aesthetic design of each ZEEGRIJS piece, including sketches, models, and finished forms.

Photographs and Visuals: All product and lifestyle photography, graphics, and video content.

Written Works: Website text, product descriptions, guides, marketing copy, and any written narrative associated with our brand.

Branding Assets: Logos, trade names, typography, and overall “look and feel” of the Site.

Digital Content: The Site’s design, layout, structure, and any code authored by or for ZEEGRIJS.

These works are protected under U.S. Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §101 et seq.), Berne Convention, WIPO treaties, and equivalent laws internationally.

3. Rights Reserved by ZEEGRIJS

ZEEGRIJS retains all rights, title, and interest in and to its copyrighted materials. Except where expressly permitted by law (e.g., fair use under 17 U.S.C. §107), you may not:

Copy, reproduce, or redistribute any of our works;

Create derivative works, adaptations, or altered versions of our designs or content;

Scan, 3D-model, or reverse-engineer our jewelry pieces;

Use our images, text, or branding in connection with unauthorized commercial purposes;

Upload, display, or sell unauthorized reproductions or “inspired” works based on ZEEGRIJS’ intellectual property.

All unauthorized use constitutes copyright infringement and may expose you to civil and/or criminal liability.

4. Permitted Use and Limited License

ZEEGRIJS grants visitors a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to view and use our copyrighted content for personal, non-commercial purposes only (e.g., browsing, evaluating potential purchases).

Any broader use—including reproduction in blogs, social media, or educational materials—requires prior written permission from ZEEGRIJS. Permission requests may be submitted to Admin@zeegrijs.com with full details of intended use.

5. Counterfeits, Derivative Works, and Unfair Competition

ZEEGRIJS strictly prohibits the manufacture, sale, or distribution of counterfeit or unauthorized derivative works of its jewelry. This includes “look-alike” pieces or designs substantially similar to ours that may cause consumer confusion.

In addition to copyright infringement, such acts may constitute trade dress infringement, unfair competition, and/or passing off under applicable laws. ZEEGRIJS reserves the right to pursue all legal and equitable remedies available.

6. Reporting Infringement (DMCA and Global Notice Procedure)

6.1 Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe your copyrighted material has been used on our Site without authorization, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent:

A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf;

Your physical or electronic signature.

6.2 Global Notices. Non-U.S. rights holders may submit equivalent notices under applicable law. ZEEGRIJS will review all properly submitted claims in good faith.

6.3 Counter-Notification. If you believe your removed content was misidentified or wrongly taken down, you may submit a counter-notification under the DMCA or equivalent law.

7. Consequences of Infringement

ZEEGRIJS takes infringement seriously and may:

Issue cease-and-desist letters;

Pursue injunctive relief to stop infringing acts;

Seek damages (including statutory damages under U.S. law of up to $150,000 per work for willful infringement);

Recover legal fees where permitted by statute;

Notify online marketplaces, payment providers, and hosting platforms to enforce takedowns.

8. Third-Party Content and Fair Use

Some content on the Site may incorporate works owned by third parties (e.g., licensed fonts, vendor images). Such materials remain the property of their respective owners.

ZEEGRIJS respects lawful fair use, criticism, and commentary, but reserves the right to challenge uses that exceed these limits.

9. Modifications to This Policy

We may revise this Policy to reflect legal, operational, or strategic changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Effective Date.” Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Policy is governed by the laws of New York State, USA, without prejudice to mandatory protections under applicable international copyright treaties and consumer law. Disputes arising from this Policy are subject to the dispute resolution procedures set out in our Terms & Conditions.
